Position Description – Professional Land Surveyor / Project Surveyor

As part of our survey team, you will handle a variety of surveying tasks for private and public clients, including preparing survey documents and collaborating directly with staff and clients. This role offers significant growth potential and requires a solid understanding of survey standards and procedures. A successful candidate should have or be eager to develop expertise in:

• Contract administration
• Project management
• Land records research
• Survey data collection (supervision or execution)
• AutoCAD proficiency; knowledge of Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center is advantageous
• Various survey types: boundary, topographic, route, right-of-way, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, land division, subdivision, annexation, easements, legal descriptions
• Preparation of Right of Way and Transportation Project Plats, Facility Development Manual
• Working with municipalities, understanding ordinances, applications, and public meetings
• Experience with Trimble survey equipment
• LiDAR methods and applications
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)

This role requires close collaboration to meet project timelines, budgets, and client expectations. We seek individuals who enjoy client interaction, and have experience or interest in proposal and project budget preparation.

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Initiative, self-motivation, and willingness to be challenged
• Adaptability and multi-tasking ability
• Ability to work independently and within a diverse team
• Effective communication skills with team members, designers, and clients as a Project Leader
• Accountability and diligent record-keeping
• Registration as a Land Surveyor in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 6 months; Illinois registration a plus
