Position Responsibilities:
Conduct and oversee boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
Operate and maintain surveying equipment including GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors.
Prepare, certify, and review survey maps, plats, legal descriptions, and other deliverables in compliance with Pennsylvania state laws and standards.
Perform detailed calculations related to land boundaries, elevations, and property features.
Research land records, deeds, maps, and other legal documents to support survey projects.
Analyze field data and prepare thorough documentation and reports.
Resolve discrepancies between field data and existing records and make necessary adjustments.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Provide expert testimony in legal matters related to property boundaries, if necessary.
Engage directly with clients, contractors, and government agencies, representing KCE in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
Required Qualifications:
Expertise in the operation of surveying instruments and GPS technology.
Strong foundation in land surveying principles, boundary and topographic surveying.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications.
Advanced analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret and apply legal descriptions, maps, and survey data accurately.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage field crews and multiple projects simultaneously.
Client-focused mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Current and valid Pennsylvania Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License.
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in land surveying and project management.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Carlson Software and ServePro.
Additional certifications in specialized areas of surveying.
Active membership in the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS).
