Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Substation Engineer to design and review electrical and structural layouts for substation facilities, including grounding, conduit, and foundations. You will prepare materials lists and work orders in SAP, coordinate material fabrication, and manage multiple projects with internal teams and external partners.

The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with engineering software, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings while facilitating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 2–4 years of experience in engineering/design roles preferred.
• Experience with substation design and project coordination is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and review electrical drawings, one-lines, plan and profile drawings, grounding, conduit, foundation plans for substation facilities.
• Prepare BOM, Instructions to Foreman, and SAP work orders.
• Coordinate ordering and fabrication of materials for projects.
• Manage multiple projects with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Mentor junior staff on design practices.

Job Description Summary: You will have the ability to: manage and engineer Electrical and Structural Substation (Physical) projects involving electrical layouts, grounding, conduit, and foundation plans of new and existing facilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Engineer and review electrical drawings, electric one-lines, plan and profile drawings, grounding, conduit, foundation, and vendor drawings as necessary to facilitate the design and construction of substation facilities.
• Prepare and compile Bill of Materials, Instructions to Foreman, and work order package for processing in SAP
• Prepare and coordinate the ordering and fabrication of standard and non-standard project material.
• Perform project management functions associated with contract engineering resources.
• Attend kickoff meetings and other site visits to support project work and constructability issues.
• Support the construction, operation, and maintenance of CNP substation infrastructure through effective communication with field personnel and contractors.
• Manage multiple projects involving customers, contractors, and internal departments.
• Interface with inspectors, engineers, construction personnel, warehousing personnel, purchasing agents, vendors and management regarding materials and standards development, procurement, and packaging issues.
• Produce and maintain reports on Engineer/Construction Project and take action to expedite construction schedules.
• Mentor newer staff regarding design practices.
• Complete special projects related to emerging technologies, regulatory mandates and new CNP philosophies as assigned.
• Provide support for internal task committees as required.
• Perform substation facility line ratings applying CNP’s internal methodologies.
