Job summary

Everforth Apex seeks a Software Engineer with a Top Secret clearance to contribute to mission‑critical software for a DoD contract. The role is 100% onsite in Albuquerque, NM or El Segundo, CA, with responsibilities spanning design, development, testing, and integration.

The candidate will work with senior engineers across the software lifecycle, develop REST APIs, and participate in code reviews in an Agile environment. A Bachelor's in a technical field and 2–5 years of experience are required.

Role Overview

The selected Software Engineer will join a growing team supporting the development of mission‑critical software applications. The role will focus on software design, development, testing, and integration activities while collaborating with senior engineers and technical leads. Candidates should have a strong software engineering foundation and be comfortable working across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications and services.
• Support software design, implementation, testing, and integration efforts.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and technical leads to implement software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and backend services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2-5 years of software development experience.
• Experience with one or more programming languages such as:
• Java
• Python
• C/C++
• Experience working with JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience developing or consuming REST APIs.
• Understanding of object‑oriented programming principles and software design concepts.
• Experience using source control tools such as Git.
• Active Top Secret Clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MongoDB, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL, or other database technologies.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated build pipelines.
• Familiarity with software testing methodologies and unit testing.
• Experience working within Agile teams.
• Experience with mission systems, space systems, ground systems, satellite operations, or command-and-control environments is a plus but not required. Strong software engineering experience is the primary focus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
