Job description

Position Description:

We are seeking a Professional Engineer to join our Water department to enhance infrastructure with our Dallas team. Candidates should have a preferred bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering and five to ten years of relevant experience. A PE license is required. Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and collaborative. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment.

Typical responsibilities include:

  1. Providing technical planning, design, permitting, and construction support on various water utility projects, including collection systems, pump stations, wastewater treatment, reclaimed water, water treatment, water distribution, and other civil engineering projects.
  2. Attending client, public, project, and staff meetings, including progress reviews, plan reviews, and preconstruction meetings.
  3. Managing projects effectively.
  4. Supervising and mentoring entry-level staff.
  5. Preparing engineering calculations and analyzing design alternatives.
  6. Creating design reports and construction plans adhering to local and state standards.
  7. Reviewing construction plans using AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, and Revit.
  8. Assisting with permit submissions.
  9. Preparing preliminary project cost estimates and evaluating quantities.
  10. Assisting with scope, budget, and schedule development for new projects.
  11. Conducting on-site inspections as needed.
  12. Assisting in proposal preparations.
  13. Participating in professional associations.
  14. Maintaining excellent client relations.
  15. Ensuring a safe working environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

Skills/Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of related experience required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer required.
