Job Description:

MEI seeks an experienced Professional Electrical Engineer to join our design team. Projects include data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction endeavors. The role involves collaboration with staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings.

Job Duties:

  • Design electrical systems and perform related calculations.
  • Review, sign, and seal projects.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, change orders; prepare record drawings; conduct site visits and inspections; participate in commissioning.
  • Write and edit electrical equipment specifications, select equipment, and design electrical systems and devices.
  • Ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of professional electrical engineering design experience in construction.
  • Valid Electrical P.E. license and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (considering Engineering in Training certification).
  • Experience designing power systems for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing facilities, medical buildings, or similar large projects.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong knowledge of International Building Codes and NFPA Standards.
  • Advanced understanding of equipment power requirements, including large-scale standby and emergency power systems, and generator controls.
  • Experience with Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies.
  • Experience with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications.
  • Strategic thinking and flexibility to achieve long-term goals.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and team-oriented.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.
