Qualifications

• Basic operations of janitorial work.
• Basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Basic safe work practices.
• The use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• High Dusting: clean high surfaces with a treated duster in a counter clockwise direction.
• Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and remove fingerprints/smudges.
• Bathroom Cleaning: wipe down surfaces in specified order and refill dispensers.
• Empty Trash Cans: change liners as needed and wipe cans.
• Floor Dusting/Vacuuming: dust under furniture and clean floors with proper technique.
• Grounds care: outdoor areas cleaned multiple times daily and cigarette butt removal.
• Public Common Areas: dust mop, spot mop, check glass and cobwebs weekly.
• Food Court: clean and sanitize tables, remove trash, wash trays.
• Floor Sanitizing: sanitize floors from back of room.
