Qualifications

• Basic operations of janitorial work.
• Basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Basic safe work practices.
• The use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• High dusting around the room and cleaning surfaces above shoulder height.
• Sanitizing surfaces below shoulder height and removing fingerprints from doorknobs and walls.
• Bathroom cleaning including toilet cleaning and refills of dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Floor dusting or vacuuming, including under furniture and in restrooms.
• Grounds care outside areas including cleaning ash urns and tidying sidewalks.
