Job summary

Medasource is seeking a ProFee Coder – Oncology for a remote, 3-month contract to hire engagement. The role emphasizes accurate Oncology coding, E/M guidance, and compliance, with flexible hours in a 8am–5pm window and a start date of 11/2/2026.

The successful candidate will interpret anatomy and pathophysiology relevant to Oncology, apply coding rules, and collaborate with providers to resolve discrepancies while maintaining a minimum 95% accuracy rate.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of Oncology coding experience.
  • Active AHIMA or AAPC credential required.
  • Proficient in E/M coding for Oncology and related rules.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology in Oncology context.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Oncology E/M coding guidelines to services.
  • Use oncology-specific procedures, modifiers, and bundling rules.
  • Maintain at least 95% coding accuracy while meeting production standards.
  • Utilize MS Office and EHR for coding and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with coding regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with providers to resolve coding discrepancies.

Remote Role

Compensation: $28 – $30 per hour

Contract Length: 3 Month Contract to Hire

Hours: 8am–5pm (Flexible)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, a leading Revenue Cycle Services organization supporting hospital systems and physician practices nationwide, is seeking a skilled ProFee Coder specializing in Oncology. This is a remote, contract-to-hire position offering flexible hours. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring coding accuracy, compliance, and production standards, leveraging expertise in Evaluation & Management (E&M) coding, procedural coding, modifiers, and bundling rules specific to Oncology. You will interpret and apply anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology concepts relevant to Oncology coding, and collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve coding discrepancies. WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Apply Evaluation & Management (E&M) coding guidelines to Oncology services
  • Utilize strong knowledge of procedural coding, modifiers, and bundling rules specific to Oncology

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Minimum of two years of recent and relevant coding experience in Oncology
  • Active AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA) or AAPC credential (CPC, COC, CCS-P, or related specialty)
  • Proficient in Evaluation & Management (E&M) coding for Oncology services
  • Strong knowledge of procedural coding, modifiers, and bundling rules related to Oncology
  • Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology related to Oncology
  • Ability to code with at least 95% accuracy while maintaining production and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience using EHR and coding applications
  • Ability to ensure compliance with all applicable coding regulations and organizational policies
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to resolve coding discrepancies with healthcare providers and team members
