Job summary

RectorSeal, based in Houston, TX, seeks a Production Worker I to help manufacture, assemble and prepare products for shipment. The role is on-site, with duties ranging from loading assemblies to packaging and organizing loads for dispatch. You will perform basic quality checks and support the production line in a fast-paced environment.

You must follow safety rules, work 8–12 hour shifts, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime may be offered during peak times and year-end to meet demand.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 6 months manufacturing/distribution experience.

Job Overview

The Production Worker I is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing, assembling and preparation of products for shipment. Duties include manufacturing of finished goods or working with manufactured products from machines and vendors, aiding in loading the assembly process, packaging finished products and organizing them for shipments and perform basic checks to ensure quality product and /or loads. This is an on-site hourly position. Additional work hours will be assigned during peak times and year-end.RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes a variety of mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. For over 80 years, RectorSeal's customers have depended on us for quality products with excellent value, shipped to them in a timely manner. This passion for excellent customer service is the reason RectorSeal has been growing at a very fast pace, and now requires additional shift capacity to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Follows all company-established rules and policies; adheres to all safety rules, quality standards, process documentation, and regulations.
• Maintains all quality indicators for operations by verifying product quantity/quality according to company requirements.
• Assists production personnel in accordance with instructions and specifications.
• Completes tasks assigned on simple electronic machines.
• Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Makes Correct use of basic tools to complete tasks assigned.
• Assembles and packs materials and equipment as required.
• Organizes and prepares goods for shipment.
• Provides general support, performs basic adjustments and maintenance, as well as essential cleaning duties.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma/Equivalent or 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment in lieu of education.
• Able to work 8 -12-hour shifts standing.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Available to work any shift and/or overtime as needed.

Skills And Competencies

• Able to collaborate in a team setting.
• Basic computer skills to function in a job role.
• Able to read Material Safety Data Sheets as well as raw material and finished goods container labels and understand directives.
• Basic math skills to function in the role
• Willingness to comply and support safety standards.

Preferred Experience

• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, environment, or equipment.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
