Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company in Seward, NE, is seeking a manufacturing associate to support corrugated box production. You will operate equipment safely, perform quality checks, set up materials, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Starting pay is $22.32 per hour for 2nd shift, with training on the day shift and a schedule that moves to the 2nd shift in January 2027. Benefits include health, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, holidays and paid vacation.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment safely and follow directions.

• Perform quality checks and assist with shift-to-shift transitions as needed.
• Respond to production needs and work overtime/various shifts when required.

Primary duties include:

Safely performing a wide range of tasks supporting the manufacturing of corrugated boxes, conducting quality checks, material set-up, machine set-up and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safely, a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operate complex machinery.

1st Shift 5:0 AM-1:30PM

Will move to 2nd shift January 2027 Monday-Friday 1:00 PM-9:30 PM

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Operating manufacturing equipment/powered equipment safely and follow specific directions
• Maintaining a clean work environment
• Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, squat, life, reach, kneel, and stand for up to 12 hrs. per day.
• Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Required to work daily overtime, weekend work and various shifts depending on workload.
• Must be willing to work any available shift.
• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Other duties as assigned

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Starting Pay: $22.32/hr
