Job description

Arcosa Lightweight is searching for a Production Worker for our Frazier Park, CA plant. As a Production Worker, you will foster a positive safety culture while operating equipment, maintaining designated work areas, and assisting with plant projects within a 24/7 aggregate environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards.

Arcosa Lightweight is a leading producer and distributor in the Western and Southwestern U.S. of lightweight and natural aggregates, including expanded shale and clay, crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and other products.

Compensation:

$17.49-$18.59

What You Will Do:

• Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations
• Perform tasks assigned in a safe and effective manner
• Operate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipment (haul truck, farm tractor, water truck, rubber tire backhoe, front loader, etc.)
• Operate equipment in quarry or production
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain the bowl mill and cooler area
• Perform all necessary work area inspections and document discrepancies, including heavy equipment checklist/inspections
• Be able to operate front end loader
• Run clinker pile and spec material clay shed via front end loader
• Close off spec doors to coolers
• Haul stack dust once a shift
• Remove logs from cooler
• Fill and maintain coal hopper
• Perform all tasks safely, wearing proper PPE and following safety regulations
• Perform other duties as required
• Keep water level pumped down at eight belt
• Run clinkers for screening and crushing department
• Grease and inspect crusher screens in finishing plant
• Assist clay feed attendant in keeping clay chopped in clay shed
• Run sweeper to keep concrete clean, wash scrubber slabs
• Assist in turning and replacing hammers in crusher
• Drive dump truck during cleanup of spillage
• Maintain cooler reversible belts operation, keeping tail pulleys clean and water on belts when needed
• Maintain coal mills, including oil levels, water circulation, greasing, and cleanliness
• Maintain cooler drives and keep area around coolers clean, including cleaning tail pulley and catwalk on stockpile belts
• Remove clinkers from cooler pits and stack in designated areas
• Keep all above areas clean
• Grease equipment across production areas
• Other duties as assigned

What You Will Need:

• Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet, and lift up to 60 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of experience
• Ability to operate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipment (haul truck, farm tractor, water truck, rubber tire backhoe, front loader, etc.)
• On-the-job training provided
• Experience operating front end loader and bobcat

Working Conditions and Physical Environment:

Most equipment has air conditioning, but some responsibilities require working in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty. Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, hear. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Frequent use of hands and arms. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, and stair or ladder ascent/descent.
