Production - Warehouse Technician – Devens, MA
Pay Rate: $22.40–$23.76 per hour
Position Overview
Receive, store and issue raw materials, packaging components, and operational supplies used to support manufacturing operations. Handle samples of materials used to conduct testing or special assignments. Perform shipping and inventory cycle count functions to support other warehouse operations and plant needs. This position must comply with all security guidelines, environmental health and safety regulations, and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function.
Responsibilities
- Receive purchased materials (raw materials, supplies, packaging components, narcotics, and dangerous substances), conduct visual inspections of the cargo, verify proper identification by counting or weighing, and record the information in the inventory control systems.
- Maintain and generate transactions in the SAP environment and handle damaged, shortages, excess, or missing orders following the Materials Damages & Claim Procedure.
- Remove samples to be used for analysis of raw materials and packaging components received and samples used for re‑evaluation of existing materials.
- Store materials according to applicable status, current GMP requirements, and keep working areas clean and organized.
- Transfer material from warehouse to production lines and/or receive back‑to‑stock materials from to the warehouse following the current procedure.
- Keep data in inventory control systems (manual and/or computerized) up‑to‑date and accurate, including freight container inventory. Participate in cycle‑counting process as per Inventory Control Procedure. Prepare materials for shipment and ensure that materials are correctly picked for shipping, as per their applicable status and according to current GMP requirements and truck loading.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment (radios, forklift, etc.).
- Handle and dispose properly rejected material, dangerous goods, potentially dangerous goods, and regulated hazardous waste in a designated on‑site disposal facility or interim container.
Required Qualifications
- High‑school diploma required; associate’s degree or some college, or trade school preferred.
- Driver’s license required – MVR must be completed and an acceptable driving record required.
- Experience driving a forklift preferred, not required (will train).
- Experience in a regulated environment such as FDA, pharma, or bio‑pharma required.
