Job summary

Forj Medical seeks a Production Trainer to guide direct labor/assembler teams in a medical device manufacturing setting. The role ensures day-to-day production activities meet accuracy and efficiency standards while coaching trainees on quality and output.

Responsibilities include onboarding, full training execution, monitoring trainee performance, and collaborating with quality and manufacturing teams. The position emphasizes adherence to procedures and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in electronic-based manufacturing environment or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience building complex electronic devices with exceptional quality.
  • Strong attention to detail when building product and following work instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills including analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to work well independently and on a team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working with computers and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with regulated environments such as FDA QSR's, ISO13485 for medical devices, and ISO 9001:2000 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports new hire onboarding process
  • Performs assembler training for both new hires and cross training for existing assemblers
  • Performs training process in its entirety
  • Stays closely aligned with trainees until they achieve output quantity and quality at required standards. Monitors and reports performance to leadership.
  • Is responsible for coaching trainees on both quality and quantity of units produced including retraining. Escalates training concerns to leadership.
  • Will perform 50% of line ICs with the goal of monitoring assembler quality
  • Partners with quality and manufacturing technicians to review workmanship escapes, identify corrective actions. Tracks and reports this data to leadership weekly
  • Monitors daily QC escapes, reports on them to production line via Tier I board and addresses quality escapes with assemblers
  • Will be or become a certified trainer for processes and procedures on assigned production lines
  • Regularly reviews area work instructions, work aids, & other relevant documents for accuracy
  • Ensure all employees working on specific production lines are trained to current procedures

Job Summary

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long durations (8 hours excluding breaks)
  • Subject to Mandatory Overtime requirements based on business demands

The salary range for this position is outlined below under "Job Details" and is dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable employment laws.
