Job summary

Innophos is seeking a Production Trainee for its Nashville plant at 4600 Centennial Blvd. You’ll start with housekeeping and support tasks, then qualify on packaging equipment under the labor contract.

This hourly, full-time role requires rotating shifts, weekends, lifting 50 lb, and learning to operate a forklift. Training starts on the 1st shift, with progression to higher classifications as you qualify.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED obtained.
• Valid driver's license may be required for certain tasks.
• Available for all three rotating shifts, including weekends.
• Computer literate; able to complete logs and basic math.
• Able to learn to operate a forklift.
• Able to pass written, oral, and hands-on tests on the process.
• Good attendance record.
• Able to wear respirator and PPE as required.
• Physically able to stand, lift 50 lb, and climb stairs as needed.

Production Trainee — Innophos

Location: 4600 Centennial Blvd, Nashville, TN 37209 (on-site)

Job Type: Full-Time, hourly, union position

Pay: $20.85/hour to start, plus shift premium on 2nd and 3rd shifts and overtime

Schedule: Rotating shifts, Monday–Sunday: 1st (6:30 am–2:30 pm), 2nd (2:30 pm–10:30 pm), 3rd (10:30 pm–6:30 am). Training starts on 1st shift.

Reports To: Production Senior Manager

About the Role

This is the entry point into production at our Nashville plant. You'll start with housekeeping and support work, then qualify on packaging department equipment. Pay can progress to higher job classifications under the labor contract as you qualify.

A Note on the Schedule and the Work

This job rotates through all three shifts, including weekends, year-round. It's physical: you're on your feet all shift and regularly lift 50 lb bags. If that sounds fine to you, this is a solid way into a union manufacturing career.

What You'll Do

• Keep production units, locker rooms, and administrative areas clean and safe
• Qualify on and support packaging operations: operate, troubleshoot, adjust, and clean equipment and instrumentation
• Record data on logs, spreadsheets, and the plant's inventory system
• Reprocess material to support production
• Move pallets, containers, and equipment in tight spaces with a forklift

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Available for all three rotating shifts, including Saturdays and Sundays
• Computer literate; able to complete paper and electronic logs accurately and do basic math
• Able to learn to operate a forklift
• Able to pass written, oral, and hands-on tests on the process and its control points
• Good attendance record
• Able to wear a respirator (facial hair policy applies) and other protective equipment
• Physically able to stand constantly, bend and lift 50 lb frequently, and occasionally climb ladders and stairs and hand-palletize 50 lb bags

Compensation & Benefits

• $20.85/hour to start; shift premium on 2nd and 3rd shifts
• Overtime on hours over 8 per day, 8 consecutive, or 40 per week; paid biweekly on Fridays
