Quantum Design, Inc. is a well-established advanced physics technology manufacturing and distribution company located in San Diego, California. Quantum Design is the leading commercial source for automated materials characterization systems incorporating superconducting technology in the field of low-temperature quantum physics.
This position is responsible for performing various repetitive routine and varied tasks to ensure that production standards are met. Assigned projects range from simple to complicated, requiring attention to detail and instruction. This position performs the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of products. The position requires the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Essential Job Functions:
· Test and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments, and assemblies
· Perform hand set-ups for AC and DC digital tests.
· Operate real-time oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, special AC test fixtures, and power supplies
· Install completed electronic and mechanical assemblies into equipment cabinets
· Disassemble, rework, or reassemble electronic and mechanical assemblies
· Soldering of mechanical parts, cables/wires, PCA
· Use hand tools such as electric drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, and other hand tools
· Knowledge of safety procedures for tools
Requirements
· Electrical Engineer degree preferred
· 6 months prior experience in a testing/manufacturing environment required
