Job summary

Astronics Test Systems in Irvine, CA is seeking a Production Test Engineer 2 to develop and implement practical, cost-effective testing methods. You’ll create test and diagnostic programs for standard and custom products, design fixtures, and produce clear specifications and procedures to ensure reliable performance.

Collaborating with senior design engineers, you will support Digital/Analog hardware testing, maintain Factory ATE software, and configure PCs for the ATE environment.

Qualifications

• Four or more years’ design or test engineering experience in a high technology environment.
• In-depth knowledge of circuit theory and programming in test languages (C#, Visual BASIC, LabVIEW).
• Requires a BSEE degree or equivalent knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development and testing of Digital and Analog Hardware.
• Support and maintain existing Factory ATE software.
• Configure and maintain PCs for ATE environment.
• Use TestStand, C, C++, C#, and LabVIEW to run and troubleshoot TPS.
• Design and support test procedures and software for production testing.
• Oversee design/construction of electromechanical test fixtures for prototypes and production.
• Create BOMs, engineering and assembly drawings/documentation.
• Train technicians in test procedures, software, and hardware usage.
• Assist Customer Service with fault analysis, repair, and corrective actions.
• Support new product development, prototype testing, hardware/software integration.
