Job summary

TRUMPF seeks a Production Test Engineer to own testing and burn-in of diode laser devices at our Cranbury, NJ site. You will manage production equipment, sustain processes, and support development of new methods while troubleshooting and driving improvements.

The role requires 5+ years in diode laser testing, strong problem‑solving and communication skills, and experience in manufacturing support for laser products. Leadership and mentoring abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Physics.
• 5+ years hands-on experience testing diode lasers and laser systems.
• Experience in an engineering support role for manufacturing of laser products.
• Extensive experience with SAS JMP, Minitab or other statistical software.

Responsibilities

• Owns multiple high‑complexity processes and tools.
• Leads small teams and manages multiple projects concurrently.
• Plans and tracks projects to ensure on-time completion.
• Drives DOE initiatives and leads R&D projects within process/equipment scope.
• Mentors and trains junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensures measurement results and equipment uptime through hands-on use of test gear.
