Job summary

Cardinal Glass Industries, Inc. in Buckeye, AZ is seeking a Production Technician to fabricate high-quality insulating glass for residential windows and doors.

You will operate advanced glass fabrication equipment, robots, and manual assembly processes while maintaining safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include packaging finished units, performing QC checks, and coordinating with the team to meet production schedules.

Job description

Job Summary| The Production Technician is responsible for the fabrication of high-quality Insulating Glass for Residential Window & Door Manufacturers.

Essential Functions |

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices, and guidelines
  • Operate high-tech glass fabrication and production equipment, including squid sealers, air-assisted manipulators, robots, nozzle changers, and power tools
  • Ensure open communication with manager and team by keeping radio on while working on the plant floor
  • May operate robot equipment for packing IG units into robot cells
  • Manually assemble units, including sealing, pressing, applying protective film, installing capillary tubes, correcting butyl gaps, and repairing zipper components as required
  • Prepare units for shipment by securing them with cardboard, bungees, and tie-offs
  • Remove rejected units and racks by placing them in designated areas and communicating updates to leadership
  • Perform vacuum pump validation tests, apply silicone with a caulking gun, and install SS strips in the proper location
  • Operate tube bending equipment to bend metal rods to required measurements and angles
  • Review and verify order requirements on placards, obtain required sign-offs, and understand, communicate, and print schedule information
  • Perform secondary quality control checks, inspections, and product audits to ensure products meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectations
  • Maintain production equipment, including squid sealers, nozzles, and related machinery, such as changing nozzles, replacing preserve rolls on the masker, safely managing silicone and other chemicals, and prioritizing tasks in accordance with production schedules
  • Move, position, load, unload, and offload racks and materials using A-frames, manipulators, and power-operated material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and tuggers
  • Assist team members, leads, and management in achieving departmental goals
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure equipment upkeep
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • May be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlines
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects
  • Noise level can be high and will vary based on location in the plant

Prior Experience | Consistent Work History - preferably in manufacturing or warehousing experience, but not required

Physical Demands |

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Climbing/ Manipulation/Reaching/Push/Pull/Grip/Pinch

Shift & Pay|

Shift:

2ndShift: Monday-Friday 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM

Pay:

2ndShift: $18.00 + $1.00 Shift Differential= $19.00/hour
