Job summary

Cardinal Glass Industries, Inc. in Mount Airy, NC, is hiring a Glass Tempering Technician for a full-time production role. You will operate tempering machinery, inspect finished glass, and record data while maintaining 5S standards.

The position offers a day shift from 5:30am to 5:30pm, with potential 12-hour days. Competitive hourly pay of $16 plus profit sharing and benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor glass tempering machinery and processes.
• Mark or tag identification on glass products and inspect for defects.
• Record product data using measuring tapes, record sheets, and quality software.
• Cross-train into at least three production areas and communicate updates to the team.
• Maintain 5S practices and ensure a safe, orderly work area.

Job description

Cardinal CT in Mount Airy has a full time production & manufacturing opening for a Glass Tempering Technician.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manually Lift up to 50LBS. of raw material, finished products, and/or pack items repetitively in a fast paced production environment.
• Mark or tag identification on glass products.
• Inspect glass for visual / and or material defects as well as quality specification tolerances.
• Observe equipment operations, make minor tool adjustments, or notify operators, leads, or maintenance of any malfunctions.
• Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators.
• Record product information using measuring tapes, record sheets, spreadsheets, & quality software.
• Understand product & machine workflows to properly load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
• Follow 5S procedures to maintain an orderly, safe, and clean work environment.
• Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.
• Cross train into a minimum of three areas of production.
• Communicate pertinent information to co-workers, supervisors, & management.
• Complete all other tasks as required.
• Respect for each co-worker.
• Regular Attendance as outlined in attendance policy.
• Ability to work in a team environment and use good judgment.

• Competitive hourly base rate - $16
• Monthly company profit sharing up to 52% of your base pay
• Annual compensation w/ profit sharing $44,953.60 - $49,254.40

Day Shift Hours:

Monday - Friday:5:30am - 5:30pm

Shifts can run up to 12 hours each day
