Job description

Job Overview:

The Machine Operator I is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to maximize production and maintain KDP’s high standards in safety and quality. This role also supports improvements to the manufacturing process in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and growth.

Shift and Schedule:

• Friday-Sunday 5:00am-5:30pm D2 Shift
• Overtime as needed by KDP site.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and healthy environment, demonstrating safe behaviors at all times.
• Understand and help improve quality systems and policies (Quality Data System, Safe Quality Food, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP).
• Learn to safely operate and monitor high-speed production equipment.
• Engage in resolving production line issues, executing and developing standard work, tracking production data, and participating in KDP’s lean daily management process.
• Participate in formal problem-solving processes with team members.
• Generate productivity and continuous improvement ideas.
• Demonstrate KDP values of Team First, Deliver Big, Think Bold, Being Fearless, and Fair.

Qualifications:

• Ability to quickly learn processing and packaging equipment; mechanical understanding or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Self-motivated team player with decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort with basic computer functions and quick learning of production software.
• Basic mathematical skills for production calculations.

Total Rewards:

Starting at $19.43/hour, increasing to $20.46/hour after 6 months. Shift differential included. Benefits available from day one, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off, 401k with match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to bend, stretch, and stand during entire shift.
• Ability to kneel, squat, climb stairs/ladders, bend, stoop, twist, and reach overhead repeatedly.
• Work in various temperature and humidity conditions.
