Rite-Hite is seeking a Production Team Leader in Mississippi. This role directs daily production activities, coordinates scheduling, and ensures safety and quality. Candidates should have a GED, 5+ years of related experience, and welding certification. Responsibilities

• Coordinate production scheduling and daily production activities to conform with the master schedule and inventory requirements.
• Perform production operations on a regular basis (approximately 40%).
• Serve as primary contact for employees regarding daily production issues; liaise between production area and area supervisor.
• Help ensure product meets quality standards by monitoring compliance to print specifications.
• Be responsible for continuous quality and efficiency improvement over time.
• Track and report quality and efficiency trends.
• Support and enforce safe production practices and good housekeeping.
• Implement and support the quality system and continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist Production Supervisor in training needs; coordinate/on-the-job training.
• Assist Production Supervisor with interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
• Direct daily activities of production employees to ensure timely production.
• Ensure continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, housekeeping, and on-time delivery.
• Ensure adequate skill levels through training.

This position is responsible for assisting the department supervisor's daily production goals by communicating production needs and coordinating production materials and resources accordingly. The position provides daily work direction, directly assisting employees and working in production as required under the direction of the area supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinates production scheduling and daily production activities to conform with the master schedule and inventory requirements. This is accomplished through effective planning, assigning and directing of production resources within respective production line(s).

Performs production operations on a regular basis, as needed (approximately 40%).

Serves as primary contact for employees with regards to resolving daily production issues. Serves as a liaison between the respective production area and the area supervisor.

Helps ensure that product meets quality standards by monitoring compliance to print specifications.

Responsible for ensuring continuous quality and efficiency improvement over time.

Track and report quality and efficiency trends.

Understands, supports and helps to enforce safe production practices and good housekeeping.

Responsible for implementing and supporting the quality system and continuous improvement efforts.

Assists Production Supervisor in identifying employee training needs. Coordinates and/or provides on-the-job training accordingly.

Assists Production Supervisor by providing input regarding interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, corrective action, and conflict resolution.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Effectively direct the daily activities of production employees to ensure timely, on-time production.

Ensure continuous improvement with respects to safety, quality, efficiency/productivity, housekeeping and on-time delivery.

Ensure adequate skill level of employees by assessing and providing effective training as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); along with at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires welding certification. Requires a knowledge of manufacturing procedures and capacities, company products and components, and production/inventory control procedures. Basic computer skills required.
