Rite-Hite Corporation in Mississippi seeks a Production Team Leader to drive daily production goals and coordinate materials and resources under the area supervisor. The role requires welding certification and strong manufacturing knowledge.

You will guide a team on quality and safety while implementing continuous improvements and training to maintain efficient lines and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least five years related experience/training.
• Welding certification is required.
• Knowledge of manufacturing procedures and capacities.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production scheduling and daily activities to conform with the master schedule and inventory requirements.
• Perform production operations on a regular basis (approximately 40%).
• Serve as primary contact for employees to resolve daily production issues and liaise with the area supervisor.
• Help ensure products meet quality standards by monitoring compliance to print specifications.
• Support continuous quality and efficiency improvement and report trends.
• Assist Production Supervisor with training needs, interviewing, hiring, and performance appraisals.
• Direct daily activities of production employees to ensure timely, on-time production.
• Promote safety, housekeeping, and adherence to production procedures.

This position is responsible for assisting the department supervisor's daily production goals by communicating production needs and coordinating production materials and resources accordingly. The position provides daily work direction, directly assisting employees and working in production as required under the direction of the area supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinates production scheduling and daily production activities to conform with the master schedule and inventory requirements. This is accomplished through effective planning, assigning and directing of production resources within respective production line(s).

Performs production operations on a regular basis, as needed (approximately 40%).

Serves as primary contact for employees with regards to resolving daily production issues. Serves as a liaison between the respective production area and the area supervisor.

Helps ensure that product meets quality standards by monitoring compliance to print specifications.

Responsible for ensuring continuous quality and efficiency improvement over time.

Track and report quality and efficiency trends.

Understands, supports and helps to enforce safe production practices and good housekeeping.

Responsible for implementing and supporting the quality system and continuous improvement efforts.

Assists Production Supervisor in identifying employee training needs. Coordinates and/or provides on-the-job training accordingly.

Assists Production Supervisor by providing input regarding interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, corrective action, and conflict resolution.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Effectively direct the daily activities of production employees to ensure timely, on-time production.

Ensure continuous improvement with respects to safety, quality, efficiency/productivity, housekeeping and on-time delivery.

Ensure adequate skill level of employees by assessing and providing effective training as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); along with at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires welding certification. Requires a knowledge of manufacturing procedures and capacities, company products and components, and production/inventory control procedures. Basic computer skills required.
