Job summary

ROM Manufacturing seeks a Production Team Leader to coordinate daily manufacturing activities on the shift and drive continuous improvement. You will act as a bridge between frontline operators and plant management, leading a team to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes team leadership, adherence to safety guidelines, and identification of efficiency improvements, reporting to the Production Supervisor/Director of Operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; an associate degree or technical certification is a plus.
• 2 to 4+ years of hands-on manufacturing or industrial production experience; 1 year in a leadership role preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Office).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and team-building skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-of-shift huddles to communicate daily goals and safety updates.
• Assign workstations, manage shift crewing, and ensure proper staffing levels.
• Coach, mentor, and train new hires and existing team members on equipment operation and safety guidelines.
• Facilitate clear communication between incoming and outgoing shift teams during shift changes.
• Enforce all plant safety rules, PPE compliance, and housekeeping standards (5S).
• Investigate near-misses, workplace incidents, or quality defects, and report findings to management.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure final products meet strict company specifications before release.
• Monitor line efficiency, track daily performance metrics, and record data regarding scrap or downtime.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks or equipment issues and assist with basic troubleshooting.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing principles, and problem-solving root-cause analysis.
