McGrath Rent Corp in Etna Green, IN is seeking a Team Lead to supervise a crew in servicing and repairing modular buildings. You will coordinate schedules, assign tasks, and ensure quality and safety standards are met on site.

You will lead carpentry, electrical, plumbing and related trades, train new employees, review blueprints, and backfill for other leaders when needed. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, outdoor work in variable weather, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of construction leadership experience required.
• Experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or related trades preferred.
• Ability to lead a team of at least 6 employees.
• Ability to read blueprints and floor plans.
• Proficient with manual and power tools.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures.
• Willingness to train and coach team members.
• Able to work outdoors in variable weather.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize production crew schedule; assign tasks and monitor quality.
• Perform preventative maintenance and construction on modular buildings (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, cleaning).
• Monitor team for productivity, quality, and safety compliance.
• Maintain tools, supplies, and work area per 6S standards.
• Participate in safety meetings and document audits.
• Provide training and coaching to crew members.
• Backfill for other leaders when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $18.80 To $31.20 Hourly

The specific pay rate and level will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience and location.

“A Day in the Life”

As Team Lead you will lead a crew of employees in servicing and repairing modular buildings. Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew, assign modular mechanics and general maintenance employees. Verify quality according to our standards.

“What You’ll Do”

• Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew, assign modular mechanics tasks, learn/train as needed, and verify quality according to our standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance and construction on modular buildings to include, but not limited to, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and cleaning.
• Monitor the work of team members to meet productivity, quality and safety requirements
• Ensure team maintains tools, supplies and work area consistent with the area’s 6S checklist
• Actively participate in safety meetings and safety training of crew members. Carry out current industry safety practices to include knowledge of OSHA requirements. Conduct daily and weekly safety audits and document results
• Provide continuous training of crew members and new employees; coaches and counsels team members as needed with regards to responsibilities of their positions
• Act as a backfill for other leaders when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

“Must Haves”

• Prior experience of at least 4-6 years in the construction or related industry performing and leading general construction trades required.
• Prior experience with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or other specialties preferred
• Able to effectively lead a team and offer guidance and direction. Prior experience overseeing the work of a team of at least 6 employees desired
• Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, procedures and Company specific work orders, work instructions and floor plans provided
• Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines
• Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures
• Deliver a high-quality output consistent with the Company’s construction standards
• Able to take, record and follow standard measurements and cut or separate materials to specific measurements or quantities
• Able to read Company’s construction documents (provided in English) and provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work
• Ability and desire to learn new computer programs and systems, including internal and Microsoft Suite based applications
• Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
• Valid Driver’s License

“Nice to Haves”

• Ability to complete material and labor take offs from blueprints a plus
• Knowledge of current building codes to include 2016 CBC and 2018 IBC and ADA a plus.
• Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is a plus
• Knowledge of LEAN a plus
