Job summary

Kitchens To Go by Mobile Modular is seeking a Team Lead to oversee a crew in servicing and repairing modular buildings. You will coordinate and prioritize the production schedule, assign tasks to modular mechanics, and verify quality against company standards.

The role requires 4-6 years in construction leadership, with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC experience preferred. A valid driver’s license and a commitment to safety are essential.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the production schedule and tasks.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and 6S housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew, assign tasks and train as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and construction including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and cleaning.
  • Monitor team performance to meet productivity, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and work area per the 6S checklist.
  • Lead safety meetings and audits; ensure OSHA guidelines are followed.
  • Provide coaching and training to crew members and other leaders as needed.

Work schedule Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-4:30pm, Friday 7:00am-11:00am

The specific pay rate and level will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience and location.

A Day in the Life

As Team Lead you will lead a crew of employees in servicing and repairing modular buildings. Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew, assign modular mechanics and general maintenance employees. Verify quality according to our standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew, assign modular mechanics tasks, learn/train as needed, and verify quality according to our standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and construction on modular buildings to include, but not limited to, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and cleaning.
  • Monitor the work of team members to meet productivity, quality and safety requirements
  • Ensure team maintains tools, supplies and work area consistent with the area’s 6S checklist
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and safety training of crew members. Carry out current industry safety practices to include knowledge of OSHA requirements. Conduct daily and weekly safety audits and document results
  • Provide continuous training of crew members and new employees; coaches and counsels team members as needed with regards to responsibilities of their positions
  • Act as a backfill for other leaders when necessary
  • Work schedule Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-4:30pm, Friday 7:00am-11:00am
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Must Haves
  • Prior experience of at least 4-6 years in the construction or related industry performing and leading general construction trades required .
  • Prior experience with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or other specialties preferred
  • Able to effectively lead a team and offer guidance and direction. Prior experience overseeing the work of a team of at least 6 employees desired
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, procedures and Company specific work orders, work instructions and floor plans provided
  • Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines
  • Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures
  • Deliver a high-quality output consistent with the Company’s construction standards
  • Able to take, record and follow standard measurements and cut or separate materials to specific measurements or quantities
  • Able to read Company’s construction documents (provided in English) and provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work
  • Ability and desire to learn new computer programs and systems, including internal and Microsoft Suite based applications
  • Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
  • Valid Driver’s License
Nice to Haves
  • Ability to complete material and labor take offs from blueprints a plus
  • Knowledge of current building codes to include 2016 CBC and 2018 IBC and ADA a plus.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is a plus
  • Knowledge of LEAN a plus

  • Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects
    • Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities
