Job summary

CA Lawton is seeking motivated Core Maker candidates to join our Core Room in Minster, Ohio. No foundry experience is required—we provide on-the-job training and a stable start in a high-demand manufacturing trade.

As a Core Maker, you will operate core-making equipment, load and unload core boxes, inspect cores, trim and assemble as needed, and maintain safety and quality standards. 5:30 AM shift, $22.52/hour, Monday–Friday with overtime.

Qualifications

• No prior foundry experience required—we provide on-the-job training.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operating core-making equipment
• Loading and unloading core boxes
• Inspecting cores for quality and accuracy
• Trimming, repairing, and assembling cores when needed
• Applying core coatings and preparing finished cores for production
• Monitoring sand and binder systems
• Performing basic equipment cleaning and maintenance
• Following all safety and quality standards

What are the hours and pay?

1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday–Friday (plus overtime as needed)

Starting Pay: $22.52/hour

What is the job?

As a Core Maker, you'll produce high-quality sand cores that are essential to the manufacturing of grey and ductile iron castings used in industries such as mining, marine, HVAC, and oil & gas.

Responsibilities include:

• Operating core-making equipment

• Loading and unloading core boxes

• Inspecting cores for quality and accuracy
