Beachaven Vineyards and Winery in Clarksville, TN, is seeking candidates for immediate production openings in a hands-on winery. This team-oriented role reports to ownership and senior staff, with a growth mindset and willingness to learn across lab, cellar, and vineyard tasks.

Candidates with a background in wine production are valued; forklift certification is preferred. A positive attitude and mechanical skills will help on bottling days and throughout seasonal vineyard work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in wine cellar or related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lab work: Perform lab analysis, interpret results and enact cellar actions.
• Cellar work: Racking, blending, fining, stabilizing, filtration, finishing.
• Inventory management: Weekly bulk and cased inventory with stock adjustment.
• Record keeping: Written and computer-based records; Excel and Google Sheets.
• Bottling: Work on bottling line; operate equipment.
• Vineyard: Seasonal pruning, trellising, training, scouting, harvesting.
• Equipment: General equipment knowledge (forklifts, pallet jacks, tractors, ATVs).
• Product development: Learn and improve our catalogue; contribute ideas.

Job Description

Beachaven Vineyards and Winery is seeking candidates for immediate production openings. Family owned and operated since 1986, Beachaven is located northwest of Nashville in Clarksville, Tn. We produce a wide range of wine styles, made from estate grown fruit, along with grapes sourced from other local growers and growers from all over the United States.

The ROll:

While prior experience and education in wine production is greatly valued, this position will be filled by someone willing to learn and grow in the job. We are a small business with a close-knit crew. The applicant must be comfortable being part of a team, willing to help in all aspects of winery operations. This team member will report directly to ownership and senior winemaking staff. A positive outlook with a growth mindset will be required. Candidates for this position will be tasked with:

• Lab Work: Perform lab analysis, interpret and report the results and enact appropriate cellar actions.
• Cellar Work: Racking, blending, fining, stabilizing, filtration, finishing and so on. General cellar order is top priority.
• Inventory Management: Weekly bulk and cased inventory with stock adjustment.
• Record keeping: Both written and computer based. Excel specifically as well as Google Sheets and Docs, Word, Gmail, etc.
• Bottling: Mechanical ability is key throughout the winery and no less so on the bottling line. You will be required to be on the line on bottling days.
• Vineyard: Seasonal; Pruning, trellising, training, scouting, sampling, harvest and associated activities.
• Equipment: General understanding of equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, tractors, ATVs etc.
• Product development: Learn and improve upon our catalogue, bring experience and ideas to the table, ensure quality production across all styles.

Physical rigors of the job. Realize that long days will be required, be comfortable climbing ladders, and be able to lift 55lbs repeatedly when necessary.

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience working in a wine cellar or related industry is preferred.
• Fork lift certified.
• Education in chemistry or fermentation science is preferred.
• Knowledge of vineyard operations and farming practices/procedures
• Mechanical skills.
