Job summary

DRW, a diversified trading firm headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Systems Support Engineer to ensure the stability of non-production environments and parity with production. You will work with development, QA, release management and operations to reduce outages and automate tasks.

You’ll implement monitoring, incident response and capacity planning for UAT and Development, aligning tooling across teams to deliver reliable test environments and smooth releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related STEM field
• 2+ years of experience managing and troubleshooting Linux-based environments
• Demonstrated knowledge of network communications including multicast networking
• Experienced in incident response and root cause analysis
• Prior experience supporting electronic trading systems preferred and ability to coordinate multiple priorities
• Experience scripting/automation with Python, Bash, Go, Java, or JavaScript
• Competence across cloud, containers, monitoring/alerting, and distributed messaging platforms
• Exposure to AI coding assistants and agentic tools with hands-on automation use

Responsibilities

• Increase parity between lower and production environments by standardizing tooling and configurations
• Implement monitoring, alerting and incident response for UAT and Development to reduce downtime
• Track and report environment performance and outages
• Collaborate with production operations and development teams to share best practices
• Ensure the stability of lower environments to deliver operational excellence
