Production Support Engineer – New York

Description of the role:

The OMS Support team provides 1st and 2nd line application support across our Order Management systems, covering both systematic and discretionary order flow. Each day offers the opportunity to work with investment professionals, traders, operations, and technologists to ensure efficient alpha realization across traded markets.

We are currently renewing our Order Management systems strategically, making this a great time to join the team and influence improvements for our investment professionals.

Specific responsibilities:

1. Providing technical and business support to investment professionals, execution traders, and support functions, including quick resolution of app issues, driving stability, and improvements.
2. Offering 1st and 2nd level application support for business systems, escalating to development, infrastructure, end users, or third parties as needed.
3. Managing incidents and problems, participating in post-incident reviews, and ensuring timely, high-standard stakeholder communication.
4. Recording and managing issues via Zendesk and following through to resolution.
5. Identifying recurring issues requiring development effort, escalating, and prioritizing these items.
6. Monitoring hardware, applications, and environmental conditions using tools like OpsGenie and CheckMK (Nagios).
7. Managing production releases of our Order Management systems.
8. Participating in disaster recovery planning, updating run books, and conducting DR tests.
9. Updating procedures and policies in the knowledge base for team use.
10. Writing SQL scripts to resolve user queries, testing, and scheduling releases during nights or weekends.
11. Providing on-call or out-of-hours support as required.

Required skills and experience:

• At least 2 years of experience supporting applications in a financial services environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong desire to develop and deliver solutions.
• Logical and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize and deliver on complex, time-sensitive tasks.

Advantageous skills and experience:

• Experience working with Front Office teams such as Portfolio Managers or Traders.
• Interest in understanding work processes and enhancing efficiency.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies, systems, and business processes.
• Familiarity with FIX Protocol.
• Understanding of the trade lifecycle for FICC and equities.
• Experience writing SQL queries.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $125,000–$150,000, plus benefits and a discretionary bonus. This range is subject to change based on various factors.
