Role Overview
The Fixed Income Spread Products (SP) production management group provides direct support to trading desks under the "GSP" banner, focusing on ITIL support procedures and protocols. Responsibilities include supporting tools used by front office traders to facilitate their operations, providing exposure to GSP Technology, and working closely with partners in Trading, Sales, Operations, Risk, and Controls to maintain stable platforms and deliver excellent client service.
Responsibilities
- Own and provide L1/L2 production management for mission-critical GSP applications, ensuring quick resolution of issues and driving stability and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain production application systems post-development, supporting daily operations.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, QA, and business support teams to align strategies and priorities, and communicate progress effectively.
- Develop technical solutions to streamline and automate processes, including monitoring solutions.
- Perform problem-solving before escalating issues, following agreed formats and logs.
- Coordinate disaster recovery testing and manage application releases.
- Analyze applications for risks, vulnerabilities, and performance issues, working with teams to address them.
- Create and maintain a knowledge base for team knowledge transfer.
- Develop an understanding of application integrations and liaise with support and development teams.
- Provide technical support and actively monitor applications against SLAs and KPIs.
- Deep knowledge of applications and dependencies, understanding processes and database schemas.
- Make technical recommendations during major issues based on system knowledge.
- Mentor junior analysts and support development tasks such as new features, scaling, recovery, and automation.
- Champion stability initiatives for high availability, including monitoring, failover, and resiliency.
- Partner with teams for diagnostics and investigations of outages caused by scale issues.
- Manage incidents, problems, and changes globally, maintaining calm and analytical approach during crises.
- Communicate complex information confidently with operations and technology partners.
Qualifications
- Experience in Application Support or Production Management preferred.
- Support experience with business applications, issue tracking tools like JIRA and ServiceNow.
- Technical skills in UNIX (AIX/Linux), databases (Oracle, SQL Server), scripting languages (Python, Shell, JavaScript, Perl).
- Strong analytical skills, adaptable, with good planning and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income business, support for trading/risk platforms, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and monitoring tools (Geneos, AppDynamics).
- Understanding of incident, change, and problem management procedures.
- Familiarity with container management (Kubernetes, OpenShift), automation (Ansible), and log tools (ELK, Splunk).
- Nice-to-have: Dashboard/reporting tools (Grafana, Tableau), Site Reliability Engineering concepts.
