The hiring range for this role is:
107,666.00 - 150,995.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range, and this range may also be modified in the future. A candidate's position within the range depends on various factors including competencies, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and organizational needs. This job is also eligible for annual bonus incentive pay.

Job Description Summary:

Function as a technical resource across several BCBSA projects, focusing on software and infrastructure products supported by IT's engineering and development teams to meet stakeholder needs. Provide tier 2-3 product support in collaboration with IT's engineering and development teams, interacting with internal and external application users, cross-functional teams, and vendors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and administer application and server resources, monitor systems and applications to ensure maximum availability.
  • Provide estimates for software development activities, improving accuracy based on past project data.
  • Troubleshoot and debug IT systems and products to enhance performance, collaborating with business and development teams.
  • Follow documentation practices, produce formal artifacts, write clean, standards-compliant code and tests, and contribute to system design for supportability and reliability.
  • Supervise project teams, monitor milestones and status, and collaborate with internal and external consultants.
  • Manage service operations, architecture, design, capacity planning, and technology transformation.
  • Handle budgeting and Tier 3 troubleshooting.
Required Education, Certifications, and Experience:

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
  • Minimum 7+ years in IT, focused on production support.
  • Experience leading or participating in cross-functional project teams.
Certifications:

Preferred
  • SAFe Agilist Certification (SA) from Scaled Agile, Inc.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner
  • Certified Data Engineer Associate from Databricks
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expertise in IBM Mainframe, MQ Series, Vitria Businessware, Sun/Solaris, AIX, Red Hat Linux, Oracle, DB2, UDB, SQL, Hadoop, Websphere, PeopleSoft, Cognos, BMC Patrol, Control-M, Tivoli, and server administration for Windows and Microsoft products.

  • Deep understanding of technical concepts in the field, with creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
