Production Supervisor, Wax Assembly (Swing)

Job Summary

The position is the main focal point of the department and reports to the area manager. The primary responsibility is to manage daily activities, plan, organize, direct, and control department operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the department's compliance with all quality system requirements, including quality control procedures, operating manuals, process control procedures, and work instructions.
• Interview and recommend candidates; ensure proper training on equipment, techniques, procedures, safety, and productivity; conduct performance appraisals and resolve issues.
• Support production by assigning work schedules based on planning priorities.
• Address employee questions or concerns; provide feedback to the operations manager regarding departmental performance.
• Ensure departmental structure and capacity support forecasted work volume.
• Implement and monitor standards for production performance, costs, procedures, and employee conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of investment casting process and equipment; ability to learn quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of planning, scheduling, and budgeting systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
• Ability to promote teamwork across departments.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules and overtime as needed.

Education and Experience

Minimum of two years in manufacturing with supervisory experience and an AA degree in a related field; BS in engineering preferred. Training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk in a manufacturing environment, communicate effectively, and operate equipment. Capable of exerting up to 75 pounds of force. Work conditions may include noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature variations.
