Job summary

Mill Rock Packaging in Renton, WA is seeking a Press Supervisor to lead the day-to-day pressroom operations, ensure safety, quality, and production goals. Based on-site, you will coordinate machine setup, scheduling, and team performance.

You’ll mentor operators, uphold policies, and partner with maintenance, quality, and plant leadership to keep production moving smoothly and efficiently. A strong focus on safety and continuous improvement is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in pressroom, printing, or packaging as an individual contributor.
• Experience leading a team in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of machine operation, safety, and quality standards.
• Ability to prepare schedules and delegate work.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and production systems.

Responsibilities

What you'll make an impact:

As a Press Supervisor, you’ll be based in-person at our Renton, WA facility and report to the General Manager. In this role, you’ll supervise and coordinate the day-to-day work of pressroom team members who set up and operate machines, helping the team work safely, meet quality standards, and keep production moving efficiently.

What you’ll do:

• Supervise and coordinate daily pressroom and sheeting activities, including machine setup, operation, workflow, and shift priorities.
• Prepare work schedules, assign work, and help balance resources to meet production needs.
• Ensure machine function, product output, and department performance are in line with specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
• Monitor production records, review daily results, and share findings, updates, and concerns with management.
• Coach team members by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and helping remove roadblocks during the shift.
• Support training for machine operators and help team members build the skills needed to perform their work safely and consistently.
• Help ensure team members follow documented policies, procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Contribute ideas to improve day-to-day processes, workflow, safety, quality, and production efficiency.
• Partner with scheduling, maintenance, quality, prepress, and plant leadership to keep work moving and resolve routine production issues.

What it takes to succeed:

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in pressroom, printing, packaging, production, or a related manufacturing environment as an individual contributor.
• Experience providing team leadership, guidance, training support, or day-to-day direction to others in a production environment.
• Thorough working knowledge of the functional area being supervised, including machine operation, workflow, safety, quality, and production expectations.
• Ability to prepare schedules, delegate work, monitor production information, and communicate updates clearly.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and production-related systems to communicate, track information, and review performance.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Requirements

• Prior supervisory or people leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with lithographic or offset printing, inks and coatings, folding cartons, or single-face laminate standards and practices.
• Experience supporting production schedules, workflow coordination, machine operator training, or production reporting.
• Experience working with scheduling, maintenance, quality, prepress, or operations partners to solve day-to-day production challenges.
