Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in North Carolina is seeking a production supervisor to oversee day-to-day department functions, support plant initiatives, and ensure safe, efficient operations with 5S housekeeping. You will coordinate crewing, monitor labor usage, help maintain procedures, and drive Performance Excellence by removing OEE roadblocks, while communicating with managers, maintenance and production staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to use and read basic measurement devices.
• Ability to operate lift truck.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Schedule Assistant, AS400)
• Able to follow detailed instructions for training and quality; communicate with managers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and adjust crewing machines according to demands and departmental goals.
• Monitor labor usage.
• Support employee needs and monitor culture; report to department manager.
• Be conscious of safety issues and concerns.
• Work with department manager to maintain procedures and processes supporting Performance Excellence.
• Work with department manager on internal advisories and corrective actions within the complaint database.
• Direct and evaluate department personnel.
• Discuss OEE improvement daily with operators and track goals.
• Follow through on employee reviews and development.
