Your Opportunity as the Production Supervisor - Night Shift

~internally this role will be titled Area Leader

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the leadership and business results of a team of hourly Technicians and Team Leaders; ensure the team meets safety, quality and operational standards; and facilitate team development and skill building through coaching and mentoring team members.

Location: Decatur, AL manufacturing plant

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site

• Night Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Willingness to work off shift (including days, weekends, and/or holidays) and flow to the work as needed

Reports to: Department Manager

In this role you will:

• Champion department daily plan and follow through on open items needed by the team. Participate in the department Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings.
• Be accountable for daily operations and team performance in safety, quality, reliability, cost, and organizational capability.
• Role model our Basic Beliefs, Our Commitment to Each Other, and Emotional Intelligence to build resonance.
• Work with operating teams to address safety concerns and assist in resolution.
• Drive department issues to root cause and develop a culture of zero-loss and continuous improvement.
• Manage performance, staffing strategy, and develop a 'flow to the work' culture.
• Partner with the Manager in developing and delivering the Department Master Plan.
• Ensure all team members clearly understand essential business information and expectations.
• Develop and coach operational and leadership skills of Team Leaders and Technicians using SQMS and HPO tools.
• Assist in developing and executing key technical and organizational projects, increasing SQMS capability.
• Collaborate across all pillars and leadership levels.
• Act as the technical resource for operating teams.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree
• 2 years of manufacturing operational experience

Additional skills and experience that would make someone successful in this role:

• An Engineering degree
• Experience coaching, developing, and leading others
• Prior food safety and/or quality experience
• Prior packaging experience
• Experience managing people and/or teams in a high-performance work environment
• Food (pet or human) and/or beverage manufacturing and/or engineering experience
