Responsibilities:- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and execute detailed production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and machine capacity.
- Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, machinery, and materials, to optimize production flow.
- Monitor progress and proactively identify potential bottlenecks or delays.
- Establish and enforce strict quality standards for machined parts, including inspection protocols and documentation.
- Conduct regular quality checks and address issues promptly to maintain product integrity.
- Collaborate with team members on quality improvement initiatives.
- Implement systems and processes necessary for maintaining relevant quality certifications.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and lead a team of machinists, operators, and production staff.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance skills and performance.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and control production costs across labor, materials, and overhead.
- Identify and implement waste reduction and efficiency strategies.
- Analyze production data to uncover and act on cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all machine shop equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and repairs with internal teams and service providers.
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity and efficiency.
- Analyze operations to uncover areas for workflow optimization.
- Stay current with emerging machining technologies and best practices.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:- Strong understanding of machining processes, including CNC machining and fabrication; hands-on experience operating CNC machines.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in the machining industry, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience preferred (military leadership experience may be considered).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, build consensus, and effectively solve problems.
- Proven experience driving Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to improve workflows and reduce inefficiencies.
- Experience working within ISO or similar quality environments to maintain high standards.
- Excellent analytical skills for diagnosing and addressing production and quality issues.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, production management software, and data analysis tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Forklift certified or willing to obtain certification.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
