Job summary

Tramec Sloan in Galion, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee daily production in a light-assembly operation producing heavy-duty air brake fittings and assemblies. You will lead a hands-on team, drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and coordinate priorities, materials, and equipment on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has strong Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in manufacturing supervision and a commitment to Lean/5S

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, production, or industrial environment.
• Previous supervisory, lead, or team-lead experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, manufacturing drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and quality principles.
• Ability to train, coach, and hold employees accountable.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter production information and use email and common office software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of production and assembly personnel.
• Organize and assign employees to workstations based on production requirements, skill levels, and workload.
• Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met.
• Monitor production output, downtime, scrap, rework, and efficiency.
• Ensure proper procedures are followed for cutting, crimping, assembly, fitting installation, testing, labeling, packaging, and other manufacturing processes.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve workflow and productivity.
• Ensure adequate availability of raw materials, components, tooling, and supplies.
• Coordinate with other departments regarding production priorities, material shortages, quality concerns, and schedule changes.
• Maintain accurate production records and communicate shift results to management.
