Job summary

Bunge is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in the crush, refinery, or packaging areas at our Illinois site. This role ensures safety, efficiency, and compliance on the assigned shift, working closely with the Production Operations Manager to sustain high output.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in engineering or has 5+ years of related industrial experience, and is comfortable coordinating with multiple teams, managing sanitation, and driving

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial/ manufacturing/ chemical engineering or related field, or 5+ years industrial ops experience.
• Proficiency with Lotus Notes and Microsoft Word.
• Ability to work odd hours, weekends and rotating shift schedule

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned department shift production activities to ensure efficiency.

• Ensure sanitation requirements and participate in sanitation inspections.
• Track and report shift productivity and approve daily reports/KPRs.
• Support annual shutdown planning and plant safety programs.

• Participate in daily production meetings and align shift activities.

Role Purpose Statement

Responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of day-to-day assigned Crush, Refinery, or Packaging production operations department shift. Support the Mgr-Production Operations in monitoring and improving plant productivity.

Main Accountabilities

• Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries.
• Oversee assigned department production shift activities (crush, refinery, packaging, warehouse, boiler house, and/or elevator) to ensure operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency.
• Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure assigned shift is compliant with sanitation requirements. May provide support in the monthly sanitation inspections and implementation of any corrective actions as necessary.
• Track and report shift productivity improvements
• Approve daily reports and KPRs for the assigned shift.
• Report and trouble shoot operations issues.
• Provide input to the Mgr-Production Operations and/or Plant Manager to plan annual shutdowns
• Support Process Safety Management programs, where applicable
• Work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance of assigned shift in all aspects
• Help develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement in assigned shift.
• Support the continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for any changes that occur in the assigned shift.
• Monitor KPR’s and help develop plans to bring assigned shift in line with Operations Excellence goals.
• Periodically participate in the daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the assigned shift operations activities are aligned.
• Participate in personnel investigations and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering or related field or equivalent progressive experience of 5+ years in soybean crushing, oil refining, oil packaging operations, or related and applicable activities in support of industrial operations is required
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed
• Ability to work odd hours, weekends and rotating shift schedule required
