Job summary

Bunge in Gibson City, Illinois is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations across crush, refinery, milling or packaging, working closely with the Production Operations Manager to maximize efficiency while upholding safety, quality and food safety standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 2+ years in soybean processing or related industrial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, chemical engineering or related field; or 2+ years progressive experience in soybean crushing, oil refining, milling, oil packaging operations.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills (Lotus Notes, Word) and other software as needed.
• Ability to work odd hours, weekends and rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day production operations across crush, refinery, milling, or packaging.
• Cultivate a safety culture with focus on zero injuries and safe production practices.
• Monitor productivity and report key performance indicators for the shift.
• Ensure sanitation and food safety compliance including monthly inspections and corrective actions.
• Assist in planning annual shutdowns and continuous improvement initiatives.

A Day in the Life:

Responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of day-to-day assigned Crush, Refinery, Milling or Packaging production operations department shift. Support the Mgr-Production Operations in monitoring and improving plant productivity.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries.
• Oversee assigned department production shift activities (crush, milling, boiler house) to ensure operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency.
• Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure assigned shift is compliant with sanitation requirements. May provide support in the monthly sanitation inspections and implementation of any corrective actions as necessary.
• Track and report shift productivity improvements
• Approve daily reports and KPRs for the assigned shift.
• Report and trouble shoot operations issues.
• Provide input to the Mgr-Production Operations and/or Plant Manager to plan annual shutdowns
• Support Process Safety Management programs, where applicable
• Work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance of assigned shift in all aspects
• Help develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement in assigned shift.
• Support the continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for any changes that occur in the assigned shift.
• Monitor KPR’s and help develop plans to bring assigned shift in line with Operations Excellence goals.
• Periodically participate in the daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the assigned shift operations activities are aligned.
• Participate in personnel investigations and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering or related field or equivalent progressive experience of 2+ years in soybean crushing, oil refining, milling, oil packaging operations, or related and applicable activities in support of industrial operations is required
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed
• Ability to work odd hours, weekends and rotating shift schedule required

• Work Schedule: 5:00pm-5:00am on 2-2-3 schedule

The compensation range for this position is $67,670.00-$76,140.00.In addition to the regular compensation, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
