PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
WENTZVILLE, MO - LEAR PLANT

As a member of the operations team, the production supervisor will oversee manufacturing personnel and operations, ensuring that quality, safety, productivity, schedule, and delivery goals are met daily. They will ensure production employees have the necessary training, tools, and equipment to perform quality work within scheduled timeframes.

The Role:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Ensure workforce is at optimal levels, including vacation scheduling, and adjust schedules as necessary due to material or personnel shortages.
2. Ensure production occurs in a timely and orderly manner.
3. Be fair and consistent in dealings with all personnel, policies, contracts, discipline, etc., and treat everyone with respect.
4. Train and develop subordinates; mediate conflicts by listening, coaching, and mentoring; uphold quality standards.
5. Ensure parts produced meet all quality standards and are correctly labeled.
6. Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring employees use safe work methods, including rotation.
7. Provide current schedules to operators.
8. Maintain effective communication within and across shifts and departments, keeping operators informed.
9. Improve and maintain housekeeping standards.
10. Accurately complete timecards, ensure overtime is equitable, and account for scrap and lost time.
11. Monitor maintenance needs, write work orders, and coordinate repairs.
12. Possess knowledge of machines, fixtures, and tools, and be capable of advising, setting up, and making minor adjustments.
13. Demonstrate applicable processes for training as required.
14. Understand and communicate emergency procedures.
15. Coordinate with planners regarding inventory levels of materials and finished products.
16. Maintain production records and supply time and attendance data to HR.
17. Lead and participate in problem-solving meetings.
18. Engage in special projects as assigned.
19. Follow policies, procedures, and quality manuals.
20. Make recommendations and suggestions for continuous improvement.
21. Support and participate in team facilitator activities.
22. Adhere to systems for TS16949 and ISO14001 standards.

Your Qualifications:

1. 3-5 years of production/plant management experience in a manufacturing or union environment.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Ability to maintain positive employment relations with high integrity.
4. Strong organizational and PC skills.
5. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
