PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
WENTZVILLE, MO – LEAR PLANT

The production supervisor will oversee manufacturing personnel and operations, ensuring quality, safety, productivity, schedule, and delivery goals are met daily. They will also ensure that production employees have the necessary training, tools, and equipment to perform their jobs effectively within designated timeframes.

The Role:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining optimal workforce levels, including managing vacation schedules and adjusting for material or personnel shortages.
  • Ensuring production occurs in a timely and organized manner.
  • Handling personnel policies, discipline, and maintaining fairness and respect in all dealings.
  • Training and developing staff; mediating conflicts; coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensuring produced parts meet quality standards and are properly labeled.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and promoting safe work practices.
  • Providing up-to-date schedules to operators.
  • Facilitating effective communication within and between shifts and departments.
  • Improving and maintaining housekeeping standards.
  • Accurately completing timecards, managing overtime, and accounting for scrap and downtime.
  • Monitoring maintenance needs, writing work orders, and coordinating repairs.
  • Possessing knowledge of machines, fixtures, and tools, with the ability to advise, set up, and make minor adjustments.
  • Demonstrating processes for training purposes as needed.
  • Understanding and communicating emergency procedures.
  • Liaising with planners regarding inventory levels.
  • Maintaining production and attendance records for HR.
  • Leading and participating in problem-solving meetings.
  • Participating in special projects as assigned.
  • Adhering to policies, procedures, and quality manuals.
  • Promoting continuous improvement and supporting team activities.
  • Following systems for TS16949 and ISO14001 standards.

Your Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of production or plant management experience in a manufacturing/union environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive employment relations with high integrity.
  • Excellent organizational and PC skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
