Job summary

gpac is representing a client seeking a Production Supervisor (Foreman Trainee) to learn the full production operation and grow into a Shop Foreman role. The position emphasizes leadership, on-floor presence, and hands-on development in a stable manufacturing environment.

You will work alongside the Shop Foreman, coordinating schedules, monitoring materials, and ensuring safety and quality while preparing for future advancement within the foreman track.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or production experience with leadership potential.
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication or metal manufacturing is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading daily shop operations and supporting production employees.
  • Help coordinate production schedules to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Monitor workflow, materials, and inventory to minimize downtime.
  • Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
  • Maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Communicate production priorities and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
  • Assist with training and developing production team members.
  • Step into a leadership role when the Shop Foreman is unavailable.
  • Learn all aspects of the operation in preparation for future advancement into the Foreman position.

Production Supervisor (Foreman Trainee)

What You'll Do

You’ll work side-by-side with the Shop Foreman, learning the operation while helping keep production running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
