PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

We are seeking a 1st Shift Bilingual Production Supervisor to lead our Production Team at Dianne's Fine Desserts, a Dessert Holdings company, in Newburyport, MA.

  • Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • $65k - $75k (+ Bonus)

The ideal candidate will supervise and coach team members, resolve issues, and serve as a link between hourly associates and plant management. The supervisor will also ensure the production lines deliver high-quality products efficiently and profitably.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and company standards.
  • Ensure employees are GFSI-trained and apply this knowledge to produce safe, quality food.
  • Lead and motivate staff to achieve high performance and retention.
  • Train new employees on machinery use and safety procedures.
  • Set and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
  • Conduct daily meetings (Huddle Meetings) to provide direction.
  • Organize workflow, assign responsibilities, and prepare schedules.
  • Monitor and prioritize production to meet deadlines.
  • Check output against specifications and suggest improvements.
  • Prepare performance reports and identify efficiency issues.
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to eliminate waste and optimize processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required; technical or engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in food manufacturing or related fields.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in English reading and writing; capable of writing reports.
  • Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with manufacturing machinery and tools.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, hands-on attitude, and assertiveness.
  • Understanding of OSHA and FDA regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and climb steps frequently.
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls with hands and fingers regularly.
  • Reach with hands and arms often.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; assistance may be required for heavier loads.
  • Good eye-hand coordination required.
  • Ability to work independently and be flexible with scheduling.
