Production Supervisor (Experienced Business Unit Leader)

THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an opening for an Area Operations Manager whose responsibilities include leading a team of 30-50 wage associates to drive performance on Safety, Production, Quality, Delivery and Cost through team members development, in order to reach the objectives of customer satisfaction.

Located in Spartanburg, our plant has been part of the community for over 40 years. Spartanburg offers a great mix of city and country life, with its walkable downtown area and great places to eat. It is located near Greenville, which also offers great living amenities and an international airport. Our facility is home to the X ONE long haul truck tire. We also build heavy-duty truck, military, and other large truck tires for our customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Achieve Business Unit expected performance levels and respect of standards to satisfy customer demand.
2. Ensure the team and its members are empowered and visibly committed.
3. Ensure the team’s autonomy is increased through the evolution of competencies and responsibility.
4. Provide leadership, support, and direction to ~30-50 wage production operators.
5. Facilitate the identification and implementation of process improvements.
6. Work with maintenance, quality, and continuous improvement teams to meet both daily and annual productivity goals.
7. Develop employees through coaching plans and work closely with your team members to improve their capabilities through effective performance management.
8. Monitor the short and long-term needs of the facility to ensure succession needs are met and employees are offered opportunities for development.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

1. A bachelor’s degree in technical/engineering field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
2. 3-5 years of successful people management (industrial setting preferred).
3. A history of successful employee performance management (to include attendance, productivity, skill development, and talent management).
4. Excel data analysis proficiency.
5. Knowledge of Power BI would be a plus.
