Orotex Corporation in Novi, MI seeks an experienced manufacturing leader to manage day-to-day production and drive operational excellence on the third shift. You will delegate authority to supervisors, oversee staffing, safety, methods, and maintenance while ensuring quality and on-time performance.

The role requires strong leadership, a background in automotive manufacturing (preferably injection molding), and experience with ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing, preferably injection molding.
• Understanding basic injection molding concepts.
• Willingness to learn troubleshooting and repair of injection molding machines (Nissei, Sumitomo).
• Leadership experience with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with ERP, MRP and shop floor control.
• US Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Direct all manufacturing operations and guide production teams.
• Optimize use of equipment, facilities and personnel for efficiency.
• Lead significant manufacturing projects as project leader.
• Implement attendance, overtime, shifts, safety, and continual improvement policies.
• Ensure production planning schedule is met.
• Adhere to quality requirements including control plans and process flows.
• Improve work instructions and ensure adherence to standard work.
• Handle additional responsibilities as directed by management.

3rd shift: Sunday - Monday 11:00PM - 7:30AM - must have flexibility to attend meetings and help with issues as needed.

Purpose of the Position:

Manage day to day operation of part production. Ensures achievement of company objectives by delegating authority to key supervisors in production. Responsible for production, staffing, training, safety, methods, processes and maintenance. Will be accountable for production department quality control as directed by Quality Control Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Helps direct all manufacturing operations
• Manages utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives
• Controls and acts as project leader on significant manufacturing projects
• Implements company policies such as attendance, overtime, shifts, safety, and continual improvement
• Drive accountability with production leaders and their team members
• Meet or exceed Production planning schedule
• Adhere to all quality requirements including control plans and process flows
• Improvement of work instructions and ensure employee follows standard work instructions
• Any additional responsibilities as directed by Management
• Takes on additional responsibilities as needed, and as directed by management
