Job summary

Moriroku-Technology-North-America- in Alabama seeks an Injection Molding Operator to install, monitor, and optimize molding processes for automotive components. You will set up machines, adjust parameters, perform quality checks, and maintain records per ISO/IATF standards.

Work with supervisors and engineers, support preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and environmental compliance while meeting production targets. This full-time role may include overtime and shift variation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Prior experience in injection molding or manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes, machinery, and tooling preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to injection molding
  • Understanding of molding materials, including plastics and resins used in automotive manufacturing is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install injection molds and equipment onto molding machines to prepare production
  • Operate and monitor injection molding machines to produce automotive parts
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust machines to ensure proper operation and product quality
  • Load materials such as plastic resins into the injection molding machines
  • Ensure molds are correctly aligned, loaded, and functioning
  • Adjust machine settings for different part specifications (temperature, pressure, timing)
  • Complete tasks as directed by supervisor
  • Maintain injection process per program sheet
  • Troubleshoot molding issues to produce quality products
  • Perform quality checks on molded parts and document defects
  • Maintain records of preventive maintenance and repairs per ISO/IATF standards
  • Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations
  • Maintain clean and organized work environment (5S)
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to meet targets
  • Report production delays, maintenance issues, or safety hazards promptly
  • Communicate effectively to meet timelines and quality standards

Job description

  • Install injection molds and required equipment onto molding machines to prepare production
  • Operate and monitor injection molding machines to produce automotive parts and components
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust machines to ensure proper operation and product quality
  • Load materials such as plastic resins or other compounds into the injection molding machines
  • Ensure that the injection molds are correctly aligned, loaded, and functioning
  • Adjust machine settings for different part specifications, including temperature, pressure, and timing
  • Complete any other tasks as directed by supervisor
  • Maintain injection process compared to program sheet
  • Troubleshoot molding issues to produce good quality product
  • Perform quality checks on molded parts, ensuring they meet specified standards and tolerances
  • Document and report defects or issues to management and adjust processes accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, maintenance repairs, and other maintenance activities, in accordance with ISO and IATF standards
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Comply with environmental regulations, including proper disposal of injection materials, solvents, and other hazardous substances
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to meet 5S ideologies
  • Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other production staff to meet production targets
  • Report any production delays, maintenance issues, or safety hazards promptly.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure that production timelines and quality standards are met

Skills/Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Prior experience in injection molding or manufacturing is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes, machinery, and tooling is preferred
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to injection molding is preferred
  • Understanding of molding materials, including plastics and resins used in automotive manufacturing is preferred
  • Operation of overhead cranes for movement of injection molds
  • Injection process training (Paulson or equivalent)
  • Ability to lift and carry materials or parts, sometimes weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Comfortable working at elevation up to 20 feet
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and various materials.
  • Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Full-time, with potential for overtime based on production needs.
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, or weekends.
