Job summary

igus Bearings, Inc. is seeking a Production Team Lead to oversee the Production Team, ensuring Safety, Quality and Delivery targets are met. You will assign work, enforce safety, and train team members while promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all shifts.

The role requires 5–7 years of team leadership in a production environment, solid computer skills, and willingness to work overtime as needed. A competitive benefits package accompanies this position.

Qualifications

• Lean techniques knowledge required.
• Previous computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Production Team to meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
• Assign work to Team Leaders and Production Employees.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed on the floor.
• Provide training to Team Leaders and Production Employees; document training for new hires and reviews.
• Manage HRIS approvals and production paperwork; support 5S on the floor.
• Identify process improvements with management and implement changes.

General Description

Responsible to oversee and assist Team Leaders and Production employees to ensure we meet organizational commitments regarding safety, quality and delivery. Works closely with other departments to determine, analyze and eliminate problems within the production environment. Responsible for ensuring that company policy and procedures are enforced and adhered to.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, direction and oversight to the Production Team to ensure company objectives are attained regarding Safety, Quality and Delivery.
• Assigns work assignments to the Team Leaders and Production Employees.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed in order to promote personal safety and the safety of others.
• Practices strong engagement with direct reports and team members including accepting diversity of ideas and thoughts, sharing responsibility for success, demonstrating honesty and integrity, helping employees solve problems and showing respect.
• Communicates daily issues and pertinent information to production manager, as needed.
• Provides training to Team Leaders and Production Employees, as needed.
• Facilitate and document all training for new hires including 90 day and annual reviews.
• Manage team HRIS approvals
• Completes all necessary production paperwork.
• Ensures 5S duties are performed every day on the floor.
• Understands, supports and follows all company policies, practices and procedures.
• Works with Management team to develop process improvement opportunities.
• Performs other assignments as directed.

Requirements

• Five to seven years production team leader experience preferred;
• Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques required;
• Previous computer experience.
• Availability and willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed.
