Job summary

Edgewell Personal Care in Orlando (Ormond Beach area) is seeking a Second Shift Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing activities at our sunscreen facility. You will schedule, train and coordinate shift teams to meet production goals while upholding safety, quality and cGMP standards.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least two years of manufacturing leadership, knowledge of liquid filling/packaging, and experience with SAP and Lean practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in a leadership role.
• Basic knowledge in principles of liquid filling and/or packaging.
• Good technical understanding of mechanical skills.
• Basic knowledge in SAP and Microsoft Office software
• Experience and knowledge or use of Lean principles or techniques.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and guide shift personnel to meet production goals and performance metrics.
• Monitor department work processes to ensure safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate Production Records.
• Develop colleagues to meet training and staffing requirements.
• Enforce cGMP and Lean 5S rules within the work area.
• Interface with Production Manager and Planning to schedule and expedite jobs.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects within the department.
• Oversee safety and health in the work area.
• Manage teammate schedules, pay and attendance.
• Collaborate with engineers/packaging for process improvements.

Location: Ormond Beach, FL (relocation assistance available)

Supervise shift personnel on a daily basis to meet operations requirements at our sunscreen manufacturing facility (Banana Boat and Hawaiian Tropic). Responsible for process improvement, training, scheduling labor and/or filling orders to meet production needs, quality, set-up assistance, monitors jobs to completion, and general shop organization. Understands and directs safety, cGMP, housekeeping, cleaning and sanitization and environmental initiatives within assigned area in FDA regulated Facility. Promotes, understands, and directs 5S and Lean Manufacturing efforts for positive and sustainable results.

This position is for Second Shift (3:30pm - 2:00am Monday through Thursday, with flexibility to come in on Friday)

Essential Functions

• Supply department employees with daily schedule and goals and overall performance matrixes to support overall business goals.
• Monitor department work processes to ensure safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
• Responsible for the accurate completion and maintenance of Production Records.
• Develop colleagues to meet training and staffing requirements of department.
• Ensure correct implementation and documentation of department SOP files, cleaning and housekeeping procedures.
• Enforce all cGMP & Lean 5S rules within work area.
• Enforce all company rules.
• Responsible for effective, consistent delivery of progressive discipline.
• Manage teammate performance and continuous performance and merit performance process.
• Responsible for teammate work schedules, pay and attendance.
• Responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects within department.
• Address any and all safety issues with work area.
• Interface with Production Manager and Planning departments as needed, to schedule and expedite jobs.
• Perform any additional job-related duties as requested.
• Interface with Engineers and/or packaging development colleagues to effectively develop new or improved processes in the operations areas.
• Responsible for the spending and manufacturing variances within work area.
• Responsible for meeting the quality, safety and productivity targets within the work area.
• Interface with Area Manager - Filling, Compounding and Planning departments as needed, to schedule and expedite jobs.
• Perform any additional job-related duties as requested.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in a leadership role.
• Basic knowledge in principles of liquid filling and/or packaging.
• Good technical understanding of mechanical skills.
• Basic knowledge in SAP and Microsoft office software
• Experience and knowledge or use of Lean principles or techniques.

Preferred Skills

Experience with liquid compounding and batching, liquid fill production, and FDA regulated facility strongly preferred

Working Relationships

• Site personnel, contractors and regulatory agencies
• Some travel may be required for training, etc.
• Work on night shifts and weekends required.
• Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.

• Actively participate in safety meetings and training.
• Review Material Data Sheet instructions before working with any chemical product

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

• Colleagues are responsible for their own quality and that of colleagues within their span of control.
• Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions.
• Notify supervision for corrective action if and when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.
