Job summary

Materion is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the production department, including processes, equipment, people, safety and housekeeping, to meet quality and output targets on each shift.

You will direct the activities of production staff, hire, train and manage performance; coordinate with supply chain to balance capacity with demand; and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Strong Lean skills and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language.
  • Lean methodologies, concepts, practices and procedures understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the activities of production employees, including hiring, motivating, training and performance management.
  • Monitors production levels and reports delays to managers, production planning and maintenance when delays occur.
  • Ensures policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed in all areas of production.
  • Maintains the established schedule by coordinating movement of parts through production with supply chain to set weekly capacity based on equipment availability, manpower and raw materials.
